In BLDC motors, the commutator and brush assembly is replaced by an external electronic switch synchronized to the rotor's position. ARC offers many different configurations for the BLDC motor line. At higher speeds, brushes may jump off the irregularities in the commutator surface, consequently creating sparks, thereby limiting the maximum speed of the motor. Also, brushes eventually wear out and the commutator itself is subject to wear and maintenance. This maintenance could be very costly. These problems are eliminated in the brushless motor.
