The ARC MAG series consists of thin, flexible resonant absorbers that can be tuned to a wide range of frequencies and bandwidths. Applications include Specular return (RCS, aircraft exteriors, etc.), surface current reduction (MAG series absorbers are ideal for near-field mode suppression), System isolation (antenna, circuit, component)
Depending upon the product formulation, MAG absorbers are suitable for operation in the near field or the far field. In near field they are ideally suited to absorb surface currents and suppress moding in enclosures and as such may be placed very close to the circuitry. In far field the MAG absorbers are resonant and are tuned to the frequency or range of frequencies required. Reflection loss of over 20dB (99% of energy attenuated) can be expected.
ARC MAG absorbers attenuate from 500MHz to over 40GHz (part dependent). They are space saving, thin materials noted for exceptional durability, temperature, moisture and chemical resistance. MAG absorbers are available in sheets or cut to shape, with optional pressure sensitive adhesive and integrated ground plane. Many MAG products are UL FR rated. Some MAG products may be extruded or injection molded.
Materials include silicone, urethane, nitrile, neoprene and TPE.
