Plasma arc cutting is the most cost effective method of
cutting metal sheet stock into two dimensional shapes.
Plasma cutting is the process of cutting conductive metals using electrically conductive gas to transfer energy from an electrical power source through a plasma cutting torch to the material being cut. Typical uses of the AXYZ Plasma system are in cutting of steel or stainless steel letters for signs, architectural components from steel, aluminum or stainless steel, and other metal fabrication requirements.
The Plasma cutting system from AXYZ International is available as a stand alone system, or as a part of a multi-purpose cutting system, combined with a router or knife system. There are three major components that make up the AXYZ Plasma system:
Plasma Source AXYZ has selected the Hypertherm Powermax1250 as our preferred plasma source. Hypertherm is the world leader in plasma cutting technology and has proven to be a consistent, reliable product for all levels of production demands.
Torch height Control (THC) The AXYZ Torch height control system ensures that the cutting torch stays at the right height from the workpiece, regardless of surface flatness of the workpiece. The THC responds to changes in the Arc Voltage that affect the cut quality of the piece.
Fume extraction bed The AXYZ plasma bed is a fabricated sheet metal plasma bed and fume pickup shoe that has been designed to provide excellent focused smoke extraction capability. The shoe runs parallel to the cutting torch at all times and directs the vacuum source to pull the smoke from the active vacuum chamber at all times.
If it is a dedicated system, the bed is permanently fixed to the deck of the machine. In a combination style machine, the plasma torch can either be installed on the primary Z axis, or beside the router on a second Z axis. The vacuum bed can be permanently installed on an extra long machine, or built in sections that can be installed or removed as needed.
The AXYZ Plasma system can be built on any of the standard AXYZ Series machine platforms, including the 4000, 5000, 6000 and 8000 Series machines.
