Akon designs and manufactures a wide variety of switch matrix products covering bands from 0.5 to 18 GHz. The innovative and proprietary designs and manufacturing techniques it has developed in-house translates into units with extremely low gain ripple versus frequency, superior VSWR, exceptional channel isolation and very compact size. Outstanding performance is also the result of AKON's vertically integrated procurement and manufacturing strategy, wherein all switches, power dividers, amplifiers, any needed filters and cable assemblies are produced in-house. Tight quality control is maintained over all components, which are designed and built specifically for the intended application, thereby producing the best possible performance. Akon's highly integrated microwave assemblies, wherein multiple functional blocks are incorporated in the same IMA, provide the best performance from several standpoints. First, since the individual functional blocks in the IMA are interconnected through extremely short transmission lines, VSWR interactions can be controlled and significantly reduced. The short interconnects additionally significantly reduce insertion losses. It goes without saying that this approach also results in extremely compact assemblies, allowing Akon to offer some of the smallest matrices on the market. Another benefit of the highly integrated assemblies is that the entire assembly can be temperature compensated as a unit,providing very low overall change in characteristics as the overall matrix is exposed to the full military temperature range.
