ALSTOM offers its Outage Kit Program that is designed to assist power plant management in these important areas.

An ALSTOM Outage Kit is a pre-packaged collection of parts and components that have been identified as potentially necessary to repair a piece of equipment on site.

Parts are consolidated at an ALSTOM Regional Service Center and arrive at the plant prior to the outage. Parts are pulled from the kit as needed to conduct the repair. The unused parts are returned to the Regional Service Center with the customer paying only for what was used.

Emergencies Cost Money

ALSTOM Outage Kits can reduce costs by allowing the customer to avoid:

• Expediting charges for raw material including shipping costs
• Expediting charges for shop fabrication comprised of overtime labor cost and additional personnel assigned
• Expediting charges for shipments to the plant site

Outage Kits can also help eliminate such on-site issues as:

• Overtime costs for installation and repair
• Rescheduling of tasks that must be accomplished out of their proper sequence
• Productivity losses due to revised schedules

Program Mechanics

Planning

The planning begins with the customer establishing the general parameters and objectives of the outage and conveying this information to ALSTOM.

Specific Requirements

The ALSTOM representative works with the customer to identify the equipment to be repaired, parts to be replaced, available inventory, and any required parts quotations.

Pre-Outage Confirmations

To help avoid last minute problems, ALSTOM confirms a number of key items prior to the outage to ensure customer expectations are met.

Post-Outage Activities

These activities include the return of the unused material, invoicing for parts used, and returning parts into inventory at the Regional Service Center.
