The Single Hinged and Gimbaled Expansion Joint Assemblies are oversized, two ply testable bellows made of Inconel alloy 625 LCF, a 10" thick, Harbison Walker refractory lining, Lightweight ES and an inner and outer bellows insulation for the exact temperature control of the bellows.
The units are installed in the Carbonizer and Combustor PCD Overhead Ducts that operate at 135 psig at up to 1700 0F. Design pressure for the expansion joints was 300 psig. Liner sizes are 26" and 36" with bellows of 30" and 36" nominal diameter.
American BOA expansion joints are used in a wide variety of piping applications to compensate for thermal pipe expansion or contraction, and to absorb equipment vibration or pipe motions. These products provide piping system flexibility under extreme operating conditions.
American BOA manufactures single, multiply, and two-ply testable bellows in sizes from 3/8 inch to over 20 feet in diameter using precision forming technology. Bellows materials utilized include stainless steels, nickel based alloys, titanium, aluminum and many others for extreme pressure, temperature and corrosive conditions.
American BOA's expansion joint business is focused on providing engineering excellence, responsive and timely deliverables, and dedication to customer success and satisfaction.
