Nicolet iN10 MX Scanning FTIR Microscope-Image

The instrument contains three detectors: 1) room temperature DTGS for rapid identification of features down to 50 microns, 2) LN2 cooled single element MCT detector to identify features of 10 microns in 'standard' transmissionspectacular reflectance modes and 3 microns in slide-on ATR mode, and 3) LN2 cooled linear array multi-element MCT detector which allows rapid chemical functional group mapping/imaging over 5 mm x 5 mm areas. The computer controlled automated sample stage can handle samples up to 20 mm in thickness.

The iN10 MX FTIR Microscope operates independently of the previously acquired iS10 FTIR spectrometer which is built on a patented compact interferometer design providing a S/N equal to or better than many 'large format' FTIR instruments.

Analyses of solid, liquid and gaseous samples by transmission, ATR, grazing angle specular reflectance, diffuse reflectance and quantitative solution cell methods are performed using this second FTIR instrument.
