Wiping, or "tack" cloths, as they're often referred, are used in the painting process of all new cars. As the car is prepared for painting, it must be wiped clean of all particulate matter. It's essential that the wiping cloth, used to wipe down the car's surface, does not introduce or leave behind any particulate matter.

For one automotive manufacturer in particular, not happy with their current fabric suppliers' pricing and responsiveness, the need to remedy this problem was a priority. In stepped APEX MILLS to put their experience to work and solve the dilemma. Further complicating matters was an approved patent on the fabric currently in use, which APEX had carefully get around.

APEX collaborated with the manufacturer to review the patent specifications and identify the fabric characteristics. Using APEX's knitting techniques, a fabric was carefully developed. It successfully addressed the manufacturer needs and avoided any patent infringements.

As a result, the manufacturer gained considerable market share using the new durable fabric that was priced in their budget.
