Armstrong International is introducing its new line of carbon steel float & thermostatic (F & T) steam traps. The CS Series Traps are ideally suited for new and replacement applications in the hydrocarbon and chemical processing industries. The new traps are intended for high pressure modulating steam applications and for applications where F & T traps are better suited than other types of steam traps. These CS Series traps offer horizontal or vertical piping configurations from the same trap. In addition, the CS Series is easily repaired in-line because the cap and mechanism detach quickly while the trap body stays in-line. While the trap bodies and caps are constructed of carbon steel (ASTM A216 WCB); the internals, including the valve(s) and seat(s), are stainless steel. The integral thermostatic wafer elements are constructed of Hastelloy and stainless steel and will withstand 45° F (25°C) of superheat and resist water hammer damage. The CS Series traps are available with connection sizes ranging from 1/2" to 2" NPT and are designed for a maximum operating pressure of 450 psig with a maximum capacity of 14,000 pounds per hour. For added versatility, the traps also are available with socketweld and flanged connections. Armstrong also offers a complete line of cast iron F & T steam traps.
