The Dash 8XPM delivers the capabilities of a high-end data acquisition recorder and a dedicated power monitoring system in one useful tool.
The D8XPM is a powerful portable data acquisition and analysis recorder, engineered specifically for power quality analysis.
The unit supports up to 8 channels of inputs for single, split and three phase power monitoring applications. Utilizing custom AstroPower™ Monitoring Software for power analysis, various power events, such as interrupts, swells, sags, harmonics, unbalance, flicker and power factor can be recorded and reviewed, with both real-time and post-capture data analysis.
The Dash 8XPM captures 8 channels of data to internal hard drive at a fixed sample rate of 6,250 Hz, which permits harmonic analysis up to the 50th harmonic while maximizing the duration of an acquisition stored on the hard drive. In Transient Mode, high speed glitches are captured at a sample rate of 200 kHz per channel.
The Dash 8XPM can log events in parallel with data recording. Event types that can be logged include power interrupts, sags, swells, transients, frequency deviations, total harmonic distortion, individual harmonic, individual interharmonic and unbalance. In addition, events such as power factor, absolute power, active power and reactive power can also be logged. Equipped with a 15" diagonal monitor for intuitive touch-screen control and real-time data viewing and analysis, the graphical user interface of the Dash 8XPM is optimized for ease of use. Simple menus permit the user to set most parameters using button and checkbox controls.
The Dash 8XPM includes a 73 GByte internal hard drive for capturing data, and the system is built into a compact, rugged case for field or lab use. Operating on either 120 or 240 VAC, the Dash 8XPM includes a capacitive backup to ensure proper shutdown without data corruption if power is lost.
The Dash 8XPM provides the user with a real-time display and analysis of data. Parameters such as RMS voltage, RMS current, power, power consumption and harmonic information can be displayed in real-time, along with phase diagrams and phase displays. Hundreds of transients or glitches can be recorded to hard drive, making the Dash 8XPM ideal for troubleshooting intermittent or evasive problems. The Dash 8XPM AstroPower software allows the user to open a previously captured data file for review and analysis. A user can also scroll through the record to find specific points of interest. The Dash 8XPM is ideally suited for applications in power generation, substations, electric utility, and other industrial applications requiring power quality monitoring. With operation from and monitoring of both 50 and 60 Hz power, along with EN 50160 and Flicker reporting, the Dash 8XPM is well suited for use throughout the world.
AstroPower Review is a versatile offline analysis package that is included with the Dash 8XPM. This offline tool provides the same review functionality as the D8XPM system on your personal computer. In addition, AstroPower Review features a comprehensive report generator, which compiles your data into clear, easy-to-read reports and exports them in either ASCII text or Microsoft Excel format.
