The Dash 8Xe can simultaneously capture 8 analog channels to internal hard drive at a sample rate of 200 kHz per channel and 4 scope channels at a sample rate of 5 MHz per channel for a total of 12 channels of data acquisition. The Dash 8Xe is equipped with a 15" diagonal monitor for intuitive touch-screen control and real-time data viewing and analysis. Other features include an internal hard drive for capturing data; Ethernet (10/100/1000 BaseT) interface for command and control; all built into a compact, rugged case for field or lab use. Designed for applications ranging from process trending to transient capture to remote troubleshooting, the Dash 8Xe is portable and rugged enough to handle any environment. The unit is ideally suited for applications in the aerospace, automotive, electric utility, telecommunications, pulp and paper, metals manufacturing, steel mills, medical, and other industrial, scientific, and educational fields. Modular inputs allow each channel to be configured independently for isolated high voltage (up to 600 VRMS), thermocouple, RTDs, pressure transducers and load cells and other inputs, eliminating the need for external signal conditioning. Signals up to 40 kHz can be recorded with an A/D resolution up to 16-bit depending on the module, ideal for ultra-precise recording. The versatile digital signal processing of the Dash 8Xe provides a wide variety of filtering capabilities, including lowpass, highpass, bandpass and notch filtering. RMS conversion and differentiation functions are also included. The Dash 8Xe is equipped with 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet for direct connection to a PC for recorder setup and data upload/review. Windows-based AstroVIEW X software allows data to be imported to a PC for data analysis and review. The user can import data to popular spreadsheet and analysis programs including Excel, FlexPro, DADiSP and MathCAD with a simple conversion command. Scaling for each channel is customizable, allowing the Dash 8Xe to display data in user-defined Engineering units. The math feature of the Dash 8Xe also provides powerful FFT analysis of data captured on the hard drive, with features such as windowing functions and selectable window sizes. Waveforms can be viewed from any angle on the high-resolution color monitor. The customizable touch-panel user interface transforms the Dash 8Xe into a dedicated data acquisition system for your specific requirements. The display is completely customizable, and different colors can be used for waveforms, grids, timing marks and annotation. When signals exceed specified limits, the "alarm" can be set to change the waveform color, instantly alerting the user to possible areas of interest. Link ports on each Dash 8Xe allow captures from multiple systems to be synchronized, ideal for capturing high number of channels. USB 2.0 allows fast removal of data records. The Dash 8Xe allows historical data to be viewed without interrupting real-time acquisition, ideal for viewing data during a long-term capture. On-screen cursors provide timing and amplitude information and permit instantaneous measurements. An optional high resolution, chart printer is available for the Dash 8Xe. The printer – which can print data in real-time or from memory – turns the Dash 8Xe into a powerful data acquisition and recording system.
