Fairmont, MN–June 3, 1999–Weigh-Tronix, Inc. has announced the SimulCast Instrument for their certified legal-for-trade lift-truck scale. The SimulCast mounts directly on the lift-truck, and is interfaced with a Weigh-Tronix lift-truck scale to document and display the weight of each load upon pick-up. SimulCast provides instant confirmation that incoming order quantities are correct, enables users to load trucks evenly and legally (to avoid overload fines and unsafe operation), and allows verification of customers' estimated shipping weights. In the production area, its instant weight data increases the accuracy of inventory tracking to maximize J.I.T. efficiency. Lift-truck weighing decreases total weighment time from 2 or more minutes (depending on the distance to the floor scale), to seconds, and reduces traffic in busy shipping, receiving and production areas.
A Weigh-Tronix lift-truck scale, with its patented design, provides accurate weighment with wide, normal, or narrow fork positions, and convenient field serviceability. At its heart is proven Weigh Bar® technology that connects the front and back elements of the scale assembly with no welded flexures, allowing quick and simple on-site replacement. The centering pin, located on the carriage assembly, assures proper positioning of the scale and prevents it from shifting. The quick disconnect interface cables can be replaced in seconds, or easily repaired with cutting and splicing. The scale carriage frame is the only epoxy-painted lift-truck scale available, making it especially resistant to environmental damage.
The SimulCast Instrument utilizes a multi-line active dot graphic electroluminescent display, the industry's best HMI (Human Machine Interface), to provide simultaneous operator prompts and weighment information, including: weight, pro number, accumulated weight, accumulated number of skids and soft key labels. The SimulCast can also be connected to a LAN to provide electronic distribution of its data.
The 10 to 90 volts DC power input range enables the SimulCast to continue operating on systems with low or over-charged batteries. The instrumentÕs three serial ports provide connections for a bar code reader, printer and bi-directional communication device. Custom configuration of the SimulCast is available.
