Reliance™ Finned Laminated Frame RPM™ AC Motor Offers Greater Power Density in a Smaller Frame Size

Engineered to provide increased torque density and more power, the new totally enclosed inverter duty motor features a patent pending finned laminated frame design that optimizes heat dissipation,enabling the motor to deliver more horsepower in less space.The improved cooling from the laminated finned surface results in greater power density and enhanced performance.

The new FL180, FL210 and FL250 frames cover a horsepower range of 2 through 75, and are designed for harsh environments. The unique compact design reduces rotor inertia and provides a higher torque-to-inertia ratio.

For example, the FL250 RPM AC motor is three frame sizes smaller, weighs 63% less, and has the highest torque to inertia ratio when compared to a standard TEFC NEMA motor. This family of new motors offers the highest power density per frame size in a totally enclosed motor, allowing users to fit a high-performance variable speed product into a wider range of machinery and equipment.

Additionally these motors feature an optimum pole design to minimize full load current and inverter size, and are available with constant torque down to zero speed. They also contain three normally closed thermostats, and have provisions for encoders. The new Finned Frame motor is available with all of the current RPM AC options and can replace existing RPM AC motors, as well as equivalent HP NEMA frame motors.
