Measuring Laser Sensor for Distances up to 4m

Baumer's laser distance sensor OADM 250 is based on time of flight technology and covers an operating distance of 4 m – even on black objects.

The OADM 250 excels at longer distances, where sensors of the same size using a triangulation principle reach their limit at distances of 1 m. It is suitable for applications in which distances between 0.2 m and 4 m have to be measured. Thanks to a special calibration, the measurement is independent of the object color and surface properties. The repeat accuracy (+/- 5 mm), linearity (+/‑ 20 mm) and short measuring repetition rate of 10 ms allow precise measurements also on moving objects.

The compact design of the sensor facilitates its integration into the application, and simplifies retro-fitting. The integrated standard alarm output improves the process safety. This output reports if the sensor cannot interpret the received signal due to heavy soiling.

The measuring range of the OADM 250 can be adjusted with Baumer's simple teach-in process via a teach-in button or the connector cable. The robust metal housing, the washable glass pane, and protection class IP67 guarantee a high durability, even in harsh industrial applications.
