Beckhoff intoduces the CX1000 PLC, motion and HMI controller. The CX1000 is based on Windows CE.NET or Windows XP embedded and runs Beckhoff's proven TwinCAT PLC and motion control software. The CX1000 runs the same code as a PC but is completely solid state with no mechanically moving parts. The CX1000 provides customer ultimate flexibility in the format of a midrange PLC. The optional Windows CE.NET or Windows XP embedded software and Ethernet port provide complete openess. The TwinCAT runtime software coupled with an HMI such as InduSoft Webstudio make the CX1000 a complete controller. The CX1000 is very affordable with a price tag that ranges from $700 to $1500. There are Profibus, Devicenet, Lightbus, Sercos, and CanOpen master and slave cards which connect to the CX1000. There are also Audio Modules, USB, and Serial modules that connect to the CX1000.
