Beckhoff, keeping with their New Automation Technology Strategy, introduces the IP67 rated Ethernet Fieldbus box. The Ethernet Fieldbus box allows you to directly mount Ethernet I/O modules on your machine or plant floor. In the NEMA world an IP rating is comparable to a NEMA 6P rating. The first number of the IP rating pertains to dust and the second pertains to water protection. IP67 means the Ethernet Fieldbus box is totally protected against dust and protected against water even if submersed under water one meter for 30 minutes. For customers familiar with the cabinet mount BK9000 and BC9000 Bus Terminal products you will be off and running with the Ethernet Fieldbus box. The functionality and capabilities of the Ethernet Fieldbus box are exactly like Beckhoff's BK9000 and BC9000 including the capability of having Modbus TCP/IP, ADS, and Beckhoff Real-time Ethernet communicating on the same Ethernet module in one application.
