Product Announcement from Bel Stewart Connector
The SS-39100 Series of Category 6 Modular Plugs join our comprehensive offering of connectors designed for high-speed networking and computing applications, and is the latest generation of our Cat 6 plugs. In addition to meeting TIA/EIA-568-B.2 requirements for NEXT (Near End Crosstalk) and Return Loss, and FCC Part 68 rules and regulations, the plugs' unique construction promotes optimum yields in cabling system performance, unsurpassed repeatability, and superior installation and applied cost efficiencies. Further, the plugs accommodate both typical 24 gauge solid or stranded cable via their patented contact design.
As the Series complies with the Cat 6 requirements for structured cabling systems, the new unshielded RJ-45 plugs are ideal for use on cables in the broadest range of today's and emerging telecommunications, premise wiring, and computer networking technologies such as 10 Gigabit Ethernet. They are singularly appropriate for high-density, side-by-side applications, as the connectors' integral strain relief boot is the same profile as the plug itself. Among the most common applications for which they are typically employed are on patch cords used in wiring closets to interconnect patch panels, hubs, routers, switches, and servers. The Series is equally suitable for use in office environments to connect computers and peripherals to modular wall jacks.
Included among the more significant features of the Series' engineering is that the plugs are uniquely designed for easy and accurate assembly. Specifically, the plugs' load bar and strain relief design firmly secures the cable and conductors in position prior to termination to ensure the connector can be assembled to repeatedly meet the NEXT attenuation, return loss, and other critical Cat 6 requirements. To further guarantee the utmost in connection integrity, the plugs feature visual indicators to show assemblers locations for ending conductor twists, and precise cut locations for conductors.
These modular plugs are manufactured of UL94-VO polycarbonate and feature 50 microinches gold-plated contacts for durable, long-lasting connections. Additional specifications include an operating temperature range of –40° to +85°C, and durability of 1000 matching cycles. Voltage rating is 150 VAC, and their current rating is 1.5 A @ 25° C.
