Important changes to the Pressure Independent Characterized Control Valve product line have occurred including the elimination of PT ports, the certified calibration procedure, and an introduction of new part numbers. Topic 1: Elimination of PT Ports on all PICCV

Summary: As of April 1, 2009, Pressure/Temperature ports are no longer available as standard in the PICCV line. There are 2 reasons for this:

• Confusion to the operation and functionality of the integral PICCV P/T ports
• Consulting Engineers in the HVAC field recommend that customers install external P/T ports for the most accurate measurement of flow during flow verification and/or commissioning of facilities where PICCV technology is utilized.

General Information:

The PICCV requires a minimum of 5 PSI across the valve. In operation, it is important to verify that this minimum of 5 PSI exists. See Figure A below.

• It's maintenance free, no repacking required after being in service for an extended period of time
• Dezincificated brass body, to ensure the mechanical strength and integrity of the valve in a critical steam application
