The MediaCento IPX family of IP streaming solutions enables you to easily multicast HDMI® video and audio to up to 250 screens on a network. You need just one transmitter to extend to as many as 250 receivers.
The MediaCento IPX Multicast system is ideal for distributing digital signage content or other HD video and audio across an Ethernet network. Because the transmitter and receivers install directly into your existing LAN infrastructure, integration is easy. There’s no need to run expensive dedicated links from a back room to digital signage in lobbies.
The extender transmits up to 328 feet (100 m) per link, but goes even longer when network switches are added to the mix. You can even use fiber with media converters to go several miles if needed. Its signal is completely digital from end to end, so your digital content is never compromised.

Lossless compression for HD extension.
MediaCento IPX Multicast features IGMP support and packetizes signals so all your HD source content_ can be delivered anywhere you want over Ethernet wiring.
It works in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint configurations. Just plug in as many receivers as you need at your remote screens. From one transmitter, you can have 16 different multicast groups to multiple receivers in multicast mode.
Featuring visually lossless compression, the MediaCento IPX Multicast units transmit broadcast-quality video and audio, and support Full 1080p resolution no matter what the distance or the number of screens, as well as all common PC resolutions (XGA, SXGA, UXGA, WSXGA) up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz.

Extremely easy to set up and use.
MediaCento IPX Multicast also supports RS-232 for configuration and control, and for extending bidirectional control signals. Use this serial link to switch screens on or off.
There’s no need to configure any IP settings (although more experienced users can do that if needed). Simply use rotary switches to set the transmitter and receivers to the same multicast channel and all IP multicasting settings are automatically configured; then just connect your source, your display(s), and a network switch. It’s ready to go!

MediaCento IPX Multicast is great for:

  • Any digital signage application with screens in different buildings or stores.
  • Distributing high-quality medical imaging video across a hospital campus.
  • Multicasting video in command and control room setups.
  • Streaming video to classrooms in schools.
  • Corporate video sharing and training.

Want to multicast video to screens in a video wall setup?
Then order our MediaCento IPX Multicast Video Wall Transmitter and Receiver.
This extension solution offers all the capabilities and features of the standard MediaCento IPX Multicast extender, but also scales source video for output on a video wall matrix—which is ideal for multiscreen digital signage in retail or public venues, as well as for distributing video to control rooms with walls of monitors.
The MediaCento IPX Multicast Video Wall version supports 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 8x8 screen arrays. For an 8x8 video wall, you need just one transmitter and up to 64 receivers.
The system enables you to assign source video to any screen in a wall of displays. To configure video for output on a video wall, simply access the system’s Web-based interface. You don’t need to install any software on source equipment. Just plug in your HDMI source and begin configuring your matrix of screens to create visually eye-catching video wall presentations.

NOTE: For the best performance, use all MediaCento IPX Multicast extenders with a Layer 2 or 3 switch supporting IGMP. For details and to choose the right network switch for your application, contact Black Box’s FREE, 24/7 Tech Support at 724-746-5500.
