Bunting Magnetics Co. has added a powder-sealed drawer filter to its renowned FF Series Drawer Magnet line. This Powder FF Drawer Magnet represents a modification of the proven FF Series design. It has been built to solve the problem of separating ferrous metal contaminants from fine-grained PVC and other powdery substances while preventing product from escaping through the separator.
The Powder FF Drawer Magnet's redesigned housing is made from 10-gauge mild steel for rigidity and has been engineered to provide superior strength to bear the weight of infeed hoppers and other processing components. Bunting grinds the inside of the housing smooth to facilitate cleaning and prevent powdered colorants and resins from clinging to the interior surfaces. The unit also features a slide gate that is completely enclosed within the housing. Any powders that cling to the slide gate will stay inside the drawer and be redirected back into the product flow. In operation, the Powder FF slide gate functions exactly the same as the No-Spill™ Slide Gate available as an option on standard FF Series Magnets. When the specially sealed external slide gate handle is pulled forward, the gate moves into the closed position. Pushing the handle back into the housing opens the fully enclosed gate. Powdered material is contained inside the housing and does not spill onto your plant floor.
Like the other Drawer Magnets in the FF Series, the Powder FF can be mounted directly on the infeed of extrusion machines to capture and hold ferrous fines and objects from the product stream. The clear polycarbonate drawer front has leak-resistant seals and permits monitoring material flow and tramp iron accumulation. Bunting Powder FF Drawer Magnets offer constant protection with minimal maintenance.
