The A70 series thermal cutouts are now known as A30 and A40 and the entire line of A thermal cutouts have been revised to better reflect the technical requirements of today's appliances and heating equipment. The new A10, A20, A30 and A40 models can be shipped with SMT and THT terminals for easy installation on PC boards as well as with the traditional type. The new model numbers reflect the new profiles and features and although the numbers are new, the high level of quality and performance are not, the switch, equipped with electrical self-hold feature is held open by a parallel switched PTC heater - the cutout will not reset automatically while supply voltage is applied. They are available in auto reset, manual reset or equipped with an electrical self-hold feature and are held open by a parallel switched heating resistance (PTC) - the cutout will not automatically reset while voltage is applied.

The temperature/current sensitive cutouts continue to be available under the banner of the basic thermostat type and respond to a combination of temperature and current level.

Applications: Temperature monitoring/regulating/limiting and current limit devices in electrical equipment.

Current sensitivity: All thermostats are temperature sensitive and in the case of high current levels are also current sensitive. Airflow over the device will counteract some or all of the self-heating produced.

Preferred mounting method: Riveted to a mica Board, solder connections for thru hole and SMT PCBs, can be supplied.
