Cantherm thermal fuses are components which will automatically open an electrical circuit and switch off power to the rpotected device, if the permissible operating temperature is exceeded.
The response temperature can only be set by the manufacturer and the TCO must be ordered at the desired temperature. The normal continuous operating temperature should be at least 25°C below the functioning temperature to allow for self heating and avoid degredation or unexplained device failure.
In order to repair the circuit, the complete thermal fuse must be replaced. Thermal fuses have a solid, dust and dirt resistant housing. They react to ambient temperature and are generally insensitive to current at rated levels. No reset will occur after cooldown, circuit is permanently opened.
