Four New 1700ºC & 1800ºC bench mounted box furnaces have recently been introduced by Carbolite. The 4 new Models, HTF 17/5, HTF 17/10, HTF 18/4 and HTF 18/8, all incorporate 6/12 mm Super Kanthal heating elements and a wattage of 6050. These larger diameter molybdenum disilicide elements provide much longer life and mechanical durability when compared to smaller diameter elements used in most laboratory furnaces.

The heating element performance is enhanced when combined with Carbolite's efficient lightweight ceramic fiber graded insulation assembly. Operator safety is emphasized through a vertical lift door that keeps the hot face away from the operator, and forced air convection between the inner furnace and outer shell that provides a safe, low temperature furnace cabinet.

Removable top and rear panels allows easy installation and access to heating elements, thermocouple and electrical leads. Precise temperature control and flexibility are provided through programmable temperature control. An independent over-temperature protection control system provides positive protection of both the furnace and load in the event of failure in the primary control circuit.
