INDUSTRIAL OVEN SYSTEMS TO LAMINATE GLASS FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC, ARCHITECTURAL, AUTOMOTIVE, SECURITY and BULLET RESISTANT APPLICATIONS

* Continuous Laminating Lines for Photovoltaic, Architectural & Security Applications

Typical systems include a loading system and glass washer outside the assembly clean room. Within the clean room, which is controlled for humidity, temperature and particulate size, assembly conveyors are provided to allow the lay up of the glass and interlayer material(s). Auxiliary equipment within the clean room may include interlayer storage, dispensing and cutting equipment; equipment to assist with the lay up including overhead lift systems; registration systems; pairing systems, etc.

Depending on the product, a press may be located within the clean room, followed by a trim conveyor.

Following the clean room an infrared preheat oven is provided to relax the interlayer so that the laminate can be fully de-aired by the first laminating press, without edge sealing the assembly. The infrared tacking oven follows, heating the glass sufficiently to fully tack the assembly together followed by the tacking press. For products with reflective coatings on the #1 surface or photovoltaic products, a convection assist is available to maintain high productivity. All systems are modular, allowing for future expansion. The process is completed with or without an autoclave.

Casso-Solar's press design is with oversized 17" diameter press rolls that insure roll flatness preventing premature edge sealing and uniform pressure on the laminate. The press design insures that the various layers within the assembly remain aligned and do not shift during processing. Presses are on tracks that allow easy side removal from the system for maintenance.

Systems successfully process multiple layered assemblies with glass, DuPont SentryGlas, PVB, Urethane and polycarbonate materials up to 3" total laminate thickness. Product widths from 48" to 144". Custom designs available. Complete PLC control with recipe storage.

* Batch & Continuous Ovens for Use with Vacuum Rings

For shaped parts or bent parts, laminate tacking can be achieved with a vacuum ring that is placed around the exterior of the laminate. A continuous convection oven will accept the laminate, either in a horizontal position, or will pickup the laminates and convey them in a close pack formation to minimize floor space. Continuous vacuum is maintain on the laminate through out the process.

All systems are custom designed to the part configuration and production rate required.

* Batch Ovens for Vacuum Bag Processing

Unusually thick laminates or unusually shaped laminates may be contained within a vacuum bag and placed into the autoclave directly, with a vacuum hookup to each bag.
