The Electropolishing process removes the high points on the surface of the coiled spring wire and re-deposits a clear, chemically bonded oxide layer. Electropolishing causes no hydrogen embrittlement, coatings or residue. This bright clean, reflective layer helps retard corrosion and resists the impregnation of bacteria. Electropolishing greatly improves the chrome to iron ratio in the surface of the part.
