The Clark-Reliance® Instrumentation and Controls Group introduces an innovative new Jerguson® level switch that exceeds typical level switches with its wide variety of standard features and unique "tri-magnet" design.

Standard features of the Jerguson® level switch include an anti-vibration mechanism, 316-SST trim, B31.1 and B31.3 design codes, refinery piping code, ANSI B16.5 body flanges, welding per ASME section IX and positive snap-action.

The advanced "tri-magnet" design allows the level switch to resist vibration and compensate for extreme misalignment tolerances on installation. It also provides a snap-action switch with no cams or springs. The magnet on the float rod inside the pressure tube drives the secondary magnet. The secondary magnet drives the tertiary magnet, which drives the switch contacts. Each magnet repels the other. Repelling magnetic fields supply a positive snap action-interlocking switch. The Jerguson® switch mechanism is protected within a secondary enclosure inside the main switch housing. This prevents foreign debris from contacting the mechanism during installation, maintenance or through conduit entries.

All configurations of the Jerguson® switch use the same pressure tube with a permanent magnet on the actuation rod to drive the switch mechanism. This provides a common part regardless of the switch configuration specified.
