See Product Details

Colonial Seal Company the New Jersey based manufacturer & distributor of standard and custom sealing solutions supplies of a range of guide rings and wear sleeves. Our wear sleeves are designed to prevent excessive wear or groves on rotating shafts that could result in leakage and costly downtime required to replace a worn or broken shaft. We typically supply wear rings of stainless steel for most standard shaft sizes and can custom make a wear ring to your specifications.

Wear rings sold by Colonial Seal Co. are designed as a thin metal sleeve that is drawn over a shaft. The sleeves provide a sealing surface that protects the shaft from excessive wear and prevents costly replacement or remetalizing. They are manufactured to meet your specifications. Colonial Seal Co. wear sleeves can be purchased with or without flanges for most standard shaft sizes. The wear sleeves or "wear rings" (as they are sometimes called) are precision engineered from stainless steel and require no unnecessary shaft preparation or finishing prior to installation. Installation is simple and requires that the wear sleeve be slipped over the shaft prior to operation. On large diameter applications it is recommended that the wear sleeve be heated prior to being slip-fit onto the shaft.

Colonial Seal Co. also supplies guide rings used in rod and piston applications that prevent piston cylinders from seizing up due to scoring caused by metal-to-metal contact. Colonial's guide rings are typically non-metallic and manufactured from high performance thermoplastics. Colonial Seal can cross-reference most major brands, including SKF Speedi-Sleeve ® and Greene & Tweed WR® or AR® wear rings and guide rings.

Colonial Seal Co. guide rings are used extensively in a variety of single- or double-acting, and lubricated or non-lubricated cylinders, and are found in several biomedical and pharmaceutical applications, as well as in heavy duty pump applications, oil field applications and earth moving equipment. The guide rings are typically constructed from compatible thermoplastic compounds. They are used to insulate the piston head from the cylinder wall and prevent scoring.

Colonial Seal Co. guide rings are sold in rectangular, concave or convex, and angled profiles. Some of the materials used to manufacture Colonial Seal guide rings include PTFE, PEEK, Carbon Graphite with other compounds available depending on the particular application.

Through a qualified network of global sourcing partners, Colonial Seal Company offers a cost-effective alternative to name brand seals. The company has a logistic management system in place to support cost reduction and supply chain efficiency. Obsolete and replacement seals are no problem!
