Colonial Seal Company the New Jersey based distributor of standard and custom seals announces that the company also supplies a wide range of V-seals. Colonial Seal supplies V-seals in a variety of materials for various operating environments including: Nitrile, VitonĀ® fluoroelastomer, Silicone and Fluorosilicone (VMQ) and EPDM to name a few. Food grade, FDA and NSF approved materials are also available. V-seals supplied by Colonial Seal Co. come in four standard profiles
VA - The most common profile. Perpendicular rear face. Available in a wide range of sizes
VE - A Heavy-duty large diameter seal. Used in paper mills and rolling mills as dirt and water excluder.
VL - Narrow cross section for applications with space constraints.
VS - Wide body and tapered cross section provides higher radial force for high speed shafts.
VR - profile v-seals and custom sizes or European profiles are also available upon request.
V-seals are an all rubber axial seal for rotary shafts. The all rubber construction allows V-seals to be fitted without tools and can be used on eccentric, misaligned and even out-of-round shafts. The V-seal, sometimes called the V-ring seal is used as a primary seal for dust, dirt or water exclusion, as well as retention of grease and lubricants. V-seals from Colonial Seal Company can also be used as a secondary seal keeping contaminants away from a primary oil seal, mechanical seal or labyrinth seal.
