High Speed Rotary Sheeter/Stacker
Over 30 years of experience went into this one - making it a 24/7, continuously operating, extremely high speed sheeting system. Pre-slit rolls of oil absorbent material are sheeted by a rotary single-knife fixed-bed cutter capable of processing up to 1,000 ft/min depending on material. An inverted vacuum belt stacker then conveys the sheets. The stacker conveys the sheets, upside down, on a vacuum conveyor to the point where the material is knocked off the belt onto the stacker. (Equipment shown processes oil absorbent material, other materials would require different style stacker) When the stack is full it automatically lowers for off-loading, meanwhile a secondary finger-tray keeps collecting sheets. When off-loading is complete the stack raises back up, collects the sheets in the finger-tray, and continues collecting sheets from the sheeter.

High Speed Sheeter
Custom requirements called for high speed, close tolerance slitting and sheeting. Material was double-coated photographic film, so a non-scratch operation was imperative. Material is fed from a 3,000 lb. shaftless unwind with auto web guide into the pacer/dancer module that slits and pays out material to the servodrive sheeter. Module shown included single-station rewind allowing sheeting/slitting and rewinding simultaneously. Since pacer module doesn't have to stop when the sheeter stops to cut, the rewind quality is excellent.

Inline Sheeter/Stacker
Designed for inline applications requiring material coming from an extruder or laminator to be converted to sheets. The system can prevent scratching of material while cutting to length and stacking. Because of CONTECH's special hydraulics, the sheeter will not put excessive tension on the web.

Manual Feed Die Cutting System
Chipboard web is pulled manually from unwind through press using a slide increment feed to measure increment distance, parts are then removed by the operator (thru-cut) or can be fed onto a rewind (kiss-cut). A very economical web die-cutting system.

Non-Stop Inline Sheeter/Stacker
This system is designed for 24/7 operation, inline, without stopping the customer's existing production line. The system edge trims a Laminate material with a score slitter, the material moves past an operator for visual inspection, then moves to the cutter. The flying knife cutter locks on at web speed and cuts exact length - as the web keeps moving. A vacuum pick-and-place system then locates itself on the sheet, picks it up, and carries it to a cart. Due to pressure sensitivity the sheets cannot be stacked higher than 2.5", so the cart is built with multiple levels of trays accommodating small groups of stacks. The cart can then be moved to a packaging operation that places each stack in a box.

Non-Stop Sheeter/Stacker
System shown was designed to meet customer requirements for speed and continuous operation. Material is received inline from plastics extruder to accumulator, then fed into the sheeter. Sheeted material moves to a sliding conveyor, then to the stacker. Stacker is equipped with joggers and a reciprocation skid platform. When one skid gets full, it automatically moves to the side and the other skid is moved into position on the stacker. Switching time is 20 seconds, and sheeter runs continuously at high speed without interruption.

Sheet or Roll-Fed Die Cutting System
This unique system is able to operate either web-fed or sheet-fed. Printed paper goes through a heated over-laminate unit, then receives an under-laminate of magnetic material. Then an optically registered die-cutter cuts out the product. The finished product is then knocked out of the web at the knock-out station, conveyed to an operator, and the remaining matrix is scrap cut at the end of the process. The product can also be left in the web, sheeted into sheets of product, and stacked for easy handling.

Sheeter/Stacker
Gripper-type, vacuum-type, slider-type, and jogger-type stackers are designed specifically to handle most types of material from flimsy nonwovens and porous material to rigid heavy papers and gaskets materials. System shown is designed with 123 unwind stands to feed nonwoven material into sheeter, cut to length and stack using a gripper-type stacker

Sheet-Fed Laminating Die Cutting System
Careful attention to material tension was needed for this system. Using a PID loop to precisely control tension by ounces per linear inch, sheets of foam are fed by an automatic sheet feeder module through a water-heated laminating station. Two layers of adhesive are laminated to the top of the foam while a substrate is laminated to the bottom. The sheets are then fed to an optically registered die-cutter, cutting out the final product at extremely close tolerance. The product is removed from the matrix by a knockout station onto a side-exiting conveyor - the matrix is sheeter cut to conveyor for waste disposal.
