The most important features of the Continuous Ship Unloader (CSU) by Konecranes are availability, reliability, and the unloading rate. Konecranes keeps these requirements in mind when designing Bulk Handling Cranes. Because of this, more than 70 ports worldwide have chosen an unloader by Konecranes for offloading bulk materials from ships.

Available Unloading Capacities:

  • CSU 1200 - nominal capacity 800-1500 tph
  • CSU 2000 - nominal capacity 1500-3000 tph

Technical and Operational Features and Benefits:

  • Bucket Wheel-A separate digging device offers the ability to unload materials that have a large variation in density. The bucket wheel is not sensitive to material collapsing from the hold walls. Ship movements are easily balanced.
  • Circular Digging-In circular digging, the main body (gantry) of the CSU is maintained in the a static position on the rails. The unloading range is adjusted by increasing the radius of the circular digging and by turning the boom.
  • Operator's Cabin-The comfortable operator's cabin is located just above the bucket wheel providing the driver the optimum working conditions. The excellent visibility helps the driver efficiently unload the material from the ship hold. Cooperation with the front-end loader during end cleaning is safe and easy.
  • Power Consumption -The CSU by Konecranes is known to have the lowest owner consumption per unloaded ton of material compared to any other type of CSU. The belt conveyor technology is employed in transferring the material up from the hold and further to the shore conveyor line.
  • Full Control on Discharge Capacity-By controlling the level in the surge bin located in the portal, the output capacity onto the shore conveyor is in full control at all times. The system automatically limits the capacity to the given set value. The overflow to shore conveyor is eliminated.
