Catalytic Sensors for Flammable Gas Catalytic sensors are typically used to monitor flammable gases in the 0-100% Lower Flammable Limit (LFL or LEL) range. Catalytic sensors are best suited for area monitoring applications.

The sensor is excellent for both indoor and outdoor use in many industries, including chemical and petrochemical plants, drilling rigs, production platforms, gas processing, oil and gas pipelines, refineries, storage tanks, pulp mills and waste water facilities.

Control Instruments' catalytic sensor is a high performance design that offers fast response, high accuracy, and long life. The sensor is stable under wide environmental variations, and has superior tolerance to catalytic-poisoning agents, including sulfur compounds, organometallics, halogenated hydrocarbons, and other masking or corrosive compounds.

Sensors come in aluminum (standard) or stainless steel, and are available in two enclosures. The standard enclosure is a Class 1 Div 1, Group A,B,C,D explosion proof condulet for most area monitoring applications. The optional duct-mounted enclosure is rated Class 1 Div 1 explosion proof, Group D.
