Coto Technology of Providence, Rhode Island has specially designed a 7003-5193 Current Sense Relay for sensing off-hook and other currents in telecom applications. The 7003-5193 is capable of switching 50V and 50mA and has a low coil resistance (8 ohms), which yields a lower voltage drop than can be achieved through the LED junction of solid-state relays. Furthermore, the current sense relay is lower cost and more rugged than Hall Effect devices.

The relay meets or exceeds worldwide safety and telecommunications standards, including meeting ITU and Bellcore 1089 lightning surges and 7KV electrostatic discharges.
