Covega's SAF-1126 (for C-band)is receiving acceptance in the telecom industry as the ideal gain chip for external cavity tunable laser and tunable transponder applications. an Inp active waveguide gain element, this high power C-band single angled facet (SAF) gain chip's proprietary design produces low modal reflectance at the angled facet and optimum reflectance at the normal facet.

The SAF-1126's unique combination of ridge waveguide laser design and broadband low angled facet reflectance makes the SAF ideally suited for use as the gain component in high-power widely tunable external cavity lasers. It can deliver 40 mW of output power over the entire band and our optimized designs allow for stable operation of the external cavity laser.
