An improved Demo Kit for the popular CSS555 and CSS555C timer IC's is now available. The Demo Kit (CSS555C-DMK) now has test sockets for both the 8 PIN DIP and the 8 PIN SOIC packages. We are also now including samples of the CSS555C in both DIP and SOIC packages. The Demo Kit is very easy to use - just plug it into your PC (USB interface provided), install the custom software and turn it on. A complete Operating Manual is included. The software provides a "point-and-click" dialog box to make operation and programming very simple.

The Demo Kit allows you to program the 6 decade counter of the CSS555 for very long pulses or delays. You can also trim the capacitor inside the CSS555C for exact timing. All this programming is stored in non-volatile memory and will be retained for as long as desired.

An attractive feature of the CSS555, especially for "green" applications, is its very low power requirements. Active current is less than 5 µA. It can also be programmed into a low voltage mode using the Demo Kit. This allows for efficient low voltage operation down to 1.2 volts. The result - The CSS555 operating power is lower than any IC timer on the market today.
