Dual-Station Lean Manufacturing System Cycle Description: The individual parts are loaded into the part fixture of workstation 1. The screwdrivers are used to assemble the required screws. The partially assembled oil-pump is then removed, turned upside-down and loaded into he part fixture of workstation 2. An integrated verification system assures that all parts are present. Additional screws are fastened using another EC-Electric Screwdriver and a marking-system will mark the completely assembled oil-pump from underneath.
Station Function:
This manual assembly station is used for the assembly of automotive oil-pumps. It consists of two separate workstations, utilizing a total of four EC-Electric Screwdrivers. The workstation base is height-adjustable and can be changed to accommodate each individual operator's height, using a remote control.
Special Feature: One of the items used on this station, is the DEPRAG TB7 Toolbox. This toolbox accepts a total of seven (7) different bits/sockets. Each bit/socket location is tied to a dedicated screw driving program in the AST30 (Screwdriver Controller) in relation to torque / speed / angle, etc. Once the Operator removes a particular bit/socket out of the toolbox, the AST30 controller automatically activates the appropriate screw driving program and therefore eliminates any time consuming selection process or programming change.
