Today, anybody who uses mechanical presses for metal works expects a high level of flexibility. This is the case, for example, when following the production of a series of simple units more complex components will be produced at a modified ram speed.

It is known that, because of today's fast and precise process and positioning assignments in the field of production technology, requirements arise that can only be met with high-tech drives. Especially for forming processes with high demands on the kinematic motion profile, DESCH has developed its planetary gearbox Servox.

Via an adapter, it is connected with a servo motor and because of this combination, it represents a highly dynamical drive unit with excellent values.The main feature of the gear is an integrated, hydraulically actuated brake at gear input level, which makes an additional or separate holding brake redundant. This results in an increased productivity of different work processes and in a considerable cost reduction because of the compact construction.

The design of the servo motors has been completed in cooperation with Siemens, but the use of other motor brands is equally possible. Because of the highly dynamical torque motor used in the servo technology, in combination with the low mass moment of inertia of the Servox planetary gearbox, the drive is predestined for the use in machines with pendulum action and modified ram speed.

The standard servo planetary gears cover a torque range from 12,000 Nm - 63,000 Nm. Other torque ranges can be realized individually with our engineers
