DIAB has expanded its Divinycell H general purpose core and its Divinycell HP prepreg compatible core with the addition of a 12.5 lb/cub. ft. (160 kg/cu. m.) density.

The decision to introduce H160 and HP160 is due to the fact that the proportion of larger boats being produced is on the increase and more and more designers and builders are requesting a density between the existing 10 lb/cub. ft. and 15.6 lb/cub. ft. (130 and 200 kg/cu. m.) for use in hull bottoms.

By offering the additional density, DIAB maintains that designers and builders will be able to more accurately match the density to the loads. This should result in better weight optimization and reduced core material costs.

Both H160 and HP160 offer extremely good mechanical properties, excellent adhesion and peel strength to all marine resin systems. As is the case with the other densities in the H and HP range, the 12.5 lb/cub. ft. (160 kg/cu. m.) densities offer very good impact resistance and slamming behavior.
