DMR Rotary Shaft Seals

Since the introduction of synthetic rubber in 1938, seal manufacturers have researched the proper elastomeric properties required for effective sealing, Coupled with versatile designs we offer the following standard profiles. Custom designs or special applications can be reviewed with your engineering staff.

With Inch and Metric double, single, multi lip designs in stock our ability is almost endless.

If heat or chemical attack are a concern we offer vitons, and polyurethane materials as well as the standard silicones and nitriles.

Standard DMR Lip Seal Profiles

A Series - The rubber elastomer outer covering tolerates thermal expansion as well as roughness in the housing bore. There will be no fretting corrosion. Furthermore, damage of the housing bore will be prevented when frequently replacing the seal. This qualifies for sealing gaseous or liquid media.

B Series - Metallic casing enables easier fitting. However, this type of seal demands closer tolerances in the housing bore to ensure proper sealing on the outer covering.

C Series - Metallic casing with reinforcing cap. Sealing and mounting identical with type B. Preferentially applied in case of rougher operating conditions and where larger dimensions are utilized. Less delicate in case of incorrect mounting due to reinforcing cap.
