Product Announcement from Dalton Electric Heating Co., Inc.
The split-sheath design of the Watt-Flex cartridge heater will expand in the bore to maximize conduction heat transfer through sheath-to-wall contact. It is particularly effective in oversized and drilled-out bores as compared with conventionally designed cartridge heaters.
When the Watt-Flex cartridge heater is de-energized, it will contract to nearly its original diameter, eliminating bore seizure and the need to drill out the heater. The seizure of a cartridge heater in a bore can mean many hours of maintenance labor to extract the heater, machine downtime, and lost productivity. Even if the heater is successfully removed, the bore will be scored or enlarged from the drillout procedure.
Dalton Electric Heating Co. warrants that a Watt-Flex cartridge heater will be replaced Free of Charge if it cannot be removed from a properly sized bore.
