The 8B isoLynx® SLX300 data acquisition system available from Dataforth Corporation works with ReDAQ® Shape, Dataforth's new out-of-the-box DAQ software, and offers an ideal solution for factory automation, process control, test and measurement, machine control, and data acquisition applications.
A number of SLX300 features represent significant technological advancements.
First, the SLX300's combination of analog and digital isolation on one PCB allows unrivaled flexibility of analog and digital channel configuration: choose from 70 SensorLex® 8B analog and 14 SCMD digital I/O modules to configure the SLX300 with up to 12 channels of isolated analog input, 4 channels of isolated analog output, and 8 channels of isolated digital I/O. This capability greatly expands both the quantity of possible data acquisition and the types of data that can be acquired.
The digital channels can be configured to perform 7 different advanced special functions: pulse/frequency counter, pulse/frequency counter with de-bounce, waveform measurement, time between events, frequency generator, pulse width modulation (PWM) generator, and one-shot pulse generator. In addition, the 8B isoLynx® SLX300 enables 4 alarm states - high, high-high, low, and low-low - to be set on the analog input and digital I/O special function channels with alarm output mapped to a user selectable analog or digital output channel.
Second, multiple powerful, high-speed microcontrollers and high performance data converters at the heart of the system enable simultaneous analog and digital I/O at sustained rates of up to 3.0kS/s while advanced features include high-speed acquisition to 100kS/s burst - the highest throughput in industrial I/O. Data is stored to a 192k sample buffer.
Third, to ensure secure data acquisition, the SLX300 provides 1500Vrms input-to-output and channel-to-channel isolation, as well as 240Vrms field-side protection.
Fourth, the SLX300 has its own dedicated software. ReDAQ® Shape provides the easiest and most efficient development tool to create, save, and open graphical user interface projects as well as to test, process, and analyze acquired data; it is also the optimal way to set up and configure the many powerful SLX300 functions. The software includes built-in functions that can be used without setup and configuration, and just three easy steps are required to create customized presentation panels.
As the SLX300 uses industry standard Modbus RTU or TCP protocols, it enables communication with a broad range of existing third-party software tools and HMI/SCADA packages.
Additional features include -40°C to +85°C operating temperature and free configuration software. The SLX300 system can be either panel or DIN rail mounted; it is also available in a rack-mounted or bench top 1U enclosure. The system is CE compliant with UL/CUL listing and ATEX compliance pending.
