Product Announcement from Datatronics™
Design engineers looking for a faster, smarter way to specify and test high-reliability transformers for Current Sense and Gate Drive circuit applications will find the new Surface Mount Transformer Design Kit from Datatronic Distribution, Inc., to be a handy resource for design and prototyping activities.
The Surface Mount Transformer Design Kit contains over 20 different surface mount transformer models for Current Sense and Gate Drive circuits. The kit is designed with compartments for individual parts and a full guide to the contents is included in the kit. Each part in the kit is fully functional and ready for prototyping evaluation. Individual parts can be re-ordered as necessary.
The kit contains several models, including the CT317 Series Surface Mount Current Sense Transformer that features a low seated profile of 0.160 inch (4.0 mm) above the circuit board. The CT317 Series offers many turns-ratio options and performs optimally at frequencies of 100kHz and above. Key electrical parameters include an inductance of 80 to 3100mH, a resistance of 0.50 ohms to 6.10 ohms maximum and an isolation voltage of 500 Vrms minimum.
The CT323 Surface Mount Current Sense Transformers are rated at a powerful 20 Amps in a sub 5.0 mm square package, surpassing the 10 Amp rating typically available in this type of device. The CT323 Current Sense Transformer offers a turns ratio from 1:20 to 1:200 and performs optimally at frequencies of 100kHz and above. Key electrical parameters include an inductance range of 100 to 12200 uH, a resistance of 0.50 ohms to 33.24 ohms maximum and an isolation voltage of 500 Vrms minimum.
The SM76760 Surface Mount Gate Drive Transformer is a low profile device that sits just 0.170 inch (4.31 mm) above the circuit board in a 0.260 inch (6.60 mm) square package. It features a turns ratio of 2:1:1 + 1 percent, an OCL of 330 uH minimum at 100 kHz and a leakage inductance of 2.2 uH maximum.
The SM76922, -24 and -25 Surface Mount Gate Drive Transformers are surface mount style devices. Each model features a different turns ratio ranging from 1:1 to 1:1:1 +2 percent, with OCL's from 330 to 850 uH at 100kHz depending on the package and a leakage inductance of up to 0.40 uH maximum. They are designed in a compact package that is 0.200 inch (5.50 mm) by 0.236 inch (6.0 mm) and sit as low as 0.157 inch (4.00 mm) above the circuit board.
The SM77121 and SM77154 Surface Mount Gate Drive Transformers are surface mount style devices. The SM77121 features a turns ratio of 1:2 + 2 percent with an OCL of 2.0 uH at 100 kHz in a package that is 0.250 inch (6.35 mm) by 0.252 inch (6.40 mm). The SM77154 features a turns ratio of 2:1:1 + 2 percent with an OCL of 700 uH minimum at 100 kHz in a package that is 0.250 inch (6.35 mm) by 0.272 inch (6.90 mm).
