Maxima-K Large Capacity Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump

Maxima-K Large Capacity Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump

DEKKER Vacuum Technologies, Inc. offers large capacity Maxima-K series single-stage liquid ring vacuum pumps in capacities ranging from 1550 – 18000 CFM (60 – 850 HP) with vacuum capabilities up to 29". The advantage of the liquid ring design is the ability to handle large amounts of condensibles. The condensing effect increases the actual pump capacity dramatically when handling saturated gas mixtures.

The Maxima-K design utilizes flat port plates mounted on each side of the impeller, which has proven to be a superior design as opposed to conical design liquid ring pumps, where tapered cones are situated inside the impeller to act as distributors. The clearances between cones and impeller are very critical for maximum performance, but the surfaces are very susceptible to wear. In case of a bearing failure the conical design pump is subject to serious and costly damage to internal parts, which is not the case with the flat port plate design Maxima-K pumps.

Design benefits:

  • Maximum efficiency:
DEKKER offers the Maxima-K series, large capacity single-stage liquid ring vacuum pumps for vacuum levels up to 29" Hg. The pumps feature a variable discharge port design, which adjusts automatically to the internal compression ratio of the vacuum pump, resulting in maximum efficiency throughout the vacuum range. Advanced fluid dynamics result in high volumetric efficiency and lower power consumption.
  • Reduced seal-liquid consumption:
Special design allows for internal partial re-circulation, which reduces make-up seal-liquid requirements. A variety of liquids may be used, such as water, solvents, oil or other process-compatible fluids.
  • No metal-to-metal contact:
Pumps can handle soft solids and entrained liquids or vapors without causing damage to the pump, because there is no metal-to-metal contact between the rotating parts and the casing, eliminating the need for internal lubrication.
  • External bearings:
Bearings are located external to the pumping chamber and are grease-lubricated.
  • Low operating noise level:
The pumps operate at speeds of 920 RPM or less, resulting in operating noise levels in the 75-85 dBA range.
  • Reliable, heavy-duty design:
Pumps are built to stringent quality standards. A rigid impeller fitted on a heavy-duty shaft, supported by oversized radial bearings, offers reliable operation under the most adverse conditions. All pump shafts are protected by stainless steel shaft sleeves.
  • Choice of materials:
The Maxima-K series single-stage liquid ring vacuum pumps are offered in a variety of materials to meet most process conditions. Universal stuffing box design with replaceable shaft sleeves, offers a variety of shaft seal arrangements, such as gland packing or mechanical seals.
  • DEKKER support:
