This system was designed to retrofit to the old document inserter or other similar mail stuffing machines. We use Cognex Insight cameras to read the datamatrix bar code or OCR characters into our system. Then we compare that information to the known records database and track that document from nest to nest. If a 2^nd document is stuffed down the line, it is also tracked to make sure that it goes into the proper envelop.

If there is a paper jam or a document mismatch, we've included a rework procedure which allows the user to repopulate the envelop queue manually to start back up without clearing out the entire machine. This is a very user friendly and graphical based interface to help make this as painless as possible.

We've also included a standard Windows interface to control an HP style inkjet printer to print the correct address and postnet information onto the outside of the envelop. This interface allows the operator to design the appearance and what data fields appear on address portion of the letter. The inkjet data is also verified by another Cognex camera.
