Tension controls manufacturer Dover Flexo Electronics (DFE) has released a new line of narrow web tension transducers that can measure light to heavy running tension on web widths from six inches to twenty inches on printing presses and converting machinery.

The NW Narrow Web tension transducer is a bearing-mounted cantilevered idler roll with integrated dual tension sensors. It mounts on a single-sided machine frame in the web path with the cantilevered idler rolls. The NW transducer measures total web tension across the roll face regardless of web position on the roll, and regardless of which edge of the web is tighter.

The NW Narrow Web transducer is available in three roll diameters, 2.25 inches, 3 inches and 3.5 inches. This range of roll diameters allows the transducer line cover a wide range of loads from 10 lbs up to 100 lbs.
