Dover Flexo Electronics, Inc. (DFE), manufacturer of web tension measurement and control equipment has released a new Panel Mount version of the popular WebHandler^TM 3 Automatic Tension Controller.

The WebHandler 3, which had until now been available only in a full enclosure version, works with input from DFE tension transducers to automatically control a tensioning component such as a pneumatic brake, clutch or DC drive to maintain a web tension setpoint.

The Panel Mount option installs quickly and easily onto OEM machinery or as a retrofit on an existing machine. The unit mounts into a small rectangular cutout on a web machine frame or control station and is secured by bolts at the front panel corners.

The WebHandler 3 can be setup and calibrated directly through it's simple touchpad interface, or accessed remotely. A range of control parameters can be selected and stored digitally as job recipes for quick recall. Features include soft start, automatic speed change compensation, taper tension, and high and low tension limit switch (TLS) settings.
