Yaskawa Introduces DriveWizard 6.0 Software
New Berlin, Wis – Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. announces version 6.0 of its popular DriveWizard™ software. With the addition of several new features to version 6.0, the DriveWizard™ software now boasts an even greater capacity for remotely viewing, manipulating, troubleshooting and exchanging data with Yaskawa drives. DriveWizard™ software can be downloaded at no charge, from www.yaskawa.com.
Several new tools included with version 6.0 allow for increased compatibility between drives. Because of the software's ability to download parameters to any Yaskawa drive regardless of the drive's size, rating (KVA) or drive control mode, users now have more flexibility when working with unique applications on different drives. In addition, connecting to a network with many drives is now made easier with DriveWizard's™ new ability to store multiple IP addresses when using Ethernet communication. A file conversion tool, allowing for conversion of a standard G5 drive parameter file into a standard F7 drive parameter file is also included, as is the File Comparison function's new capacity to save data.
In addition to the new features added to DriveWizard™ 6.0, many of the existing features have been enhanced. Among these, the Fault History feature has been improved to include a total of 10 events, up from four in previous versions. This now matches the fault history capabilities of the E7, F7, G7 and P7 drives. The Graphing function has been upgraded to allow for variable sampling rates from 0.1 to 60 seconds, whereas previous sampling rates were fixed at 1 second. Expansion has also been added for the saving of parameter files in CVS format to include parameter description, units, as well as maximum, minimum and factory default values.
And finally, the Run Wizard control panel itself is now more user friendly with addition of a stop button.
As always, the DriveWizard™ software is compatible with Yaskawa's F7, G7, P7, E7, V7, V7N, V74X, J7, GPD515/G5 and G5HHP drives. The software is provided at no charge and the latest version may be downloaded from the web site.
