Kevlar® Thread

Sewing threads made with DuPont™ Kevlar ® help increase the overall effectiveness of fire-resistant (FR) mattresses by maintaining the integrity of the seams between the panels containing FR material. Because threads made of Kevlar® retain much of their strength at high temperatures, they can help the seams and tape edges stay sealed and keep out flames that would threaten to breach the FR barrier and ignite the fuel materials inside the mattress. Several thread producers offer threads of Kevlar® in a variety of colors.
