Low Temperature Belting (Cold Resistant Belts)
• Probably the only elastic belts that work at extremely low temperatures.
• For temperatures down to -70°F (56°C), Dura-Belt recommends their ultra cold resistant belts, composed of an external silicone jacket and an internal metal spring.
• For temperatures from -10°F (-23°C) to -40°F (-40°C) Dura-Belt recommends their solid Hytrel belts. They have a good elastic memory, but they must not be overstretched, and they have only fair abrasion resistance. At low temperatures, however, abrasion is usually not an issue. They work well in ice cream plants.
• For temperatures from +32°F (-0°C) to -20°F (-29°C) Dura-Belt recommends their solid Low Temperature Urethane belting (Cyclothane-E). It has an excellent elastic memory and is very abrasion resistant. Thousands are being use in meat packing plants.
