Durex Industries, Cary, Illinois, manufactures an RTD temperature sensor designed for monitoring air and various gas temperatures. A specially machined tip designed to maximize airflow over a miniature platinum film element provides extremely rapid response to incremental changes in application temperature. Platinum sensors uniform to DIN 43760, IEC 751, (class A and B), and JIS 3920 specifications. Lead wire materials are typically TeflonÃ’ insulated or fiberglass insulated for higher temperature ranges. These designs can be manufactured in 2-, 3- and 4-wire configurations. Various termination options are available as well as a variety of mounting options, including flanges and fixed fittings mounted directly to the stainless steel sheath.
