Product Announcement from DSTI - Dynamic Sealing Technologies, Inc.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - January 3, 2011 - DSTI has partnered with a leading aerospace manufacturer to develop a rotary union solution for a highly advanced, multi-axis flight simulator.
The system is designed for testing spatial disorientation, a condition where the pilot is unable to correctly interpret aircraft attitude or airspeed due to visual or motion-related effects on their senses.
This Disorientation Research Device (DRD) system aims to help researchers study visual/vestibular interactions in efforts to improve safety for military aviators.
The project consists of 3 specialized rotary unions designed to supply cooling water and hydraulics to the axes for controlling the system's orientation. The all stainless steel unions feature specialized 4"-8" thru bores for integrating into the system's design and allowing the electrical slip ring wires to pass through the center of the rotary unions.
DSTI continues to provide government and commercial aerospace manufacturers with advanced rotary unions for flight & test systems, offering the highest performance and complete integration into customer hardware designs. Contact us today to learn more about DSTI's aerospace solutions.
